JOB DESCRIPTION

The Design Project Manager role serves to oversee our design product and process while  managing client relationships and client communications. 


On projects, the Design Project Manager oversees and contributes to interior design and art installation assignments that include programming, site surveys, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, detailing, material sourcing, interior design documentation and design/construction administration. The Design Project Manager oversees the selection and presentation of furniture, fixtures, finishes, color palettes, lighting,  and other material selections needed for construction. 


This role identifies ways to to connect within the industry and allows for continued enrichment and collaboration with any collaborators, design vendors, designers, or makers to direct and/or approve aesthetic choices as it relates to client work. 

This role collaborates with the DESIGNERS and reports to the DIRECTOR OF DESIGN to ensure that the client base is being supported.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a design related field or Masters in a design related field.

  • Project Management experience within a design or architecture related field with specific focus on client communications and relationship management. 

  • Experience managing other team members in conceptualizing, compiling, presenting, and documenting design work.

  • Experience working in the design, art or creative industries. 

  • Visual communication skills with the ability to both create compelling visuals, collaborate with interior designers, architects, and contractors. 

  • Understanding of commercial project needs and the ability to present new concepts or ideas to leadership for approval. 

  • A self-starting mentality as a proactive, adaptable and innovative team player.

  • A distinct ‘point-of-view’ as a design professional.


Skills: 

  • Proficient in Design Software (Revit and / or Autocad preferred)

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite 

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail  

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

  • Able to work in a mixed office setting including remotely, at our co-working space and at pop-up locations


Job Responsibilities:

“COMPANY” 

  • Understanding of overall SWATCHROOM projects, and clients. 

  • Overseeing of projects, clients, and teammates assigned to them specifically

  • Understanding and Overseeing of financial budgeting and tracking on projects assign to them specifically

  • Contribute to the collection of content during the design process

  • Maintain company management tools for up-to-date reporting


“PROJECTS”

  • Creative design work and direction - conceptual, schematic, development, and detailing

  • Quality Control for SWATCHROOM Design Work

  • Organize consultants and collaborators on design projects

  • Oversee Project Teams on Projects and Present to Clients

  • Send weekly updates to Clients


“TEAM”

  • Maintain organization of design team resources, systems, server, and documentation practice

  • Track and have Awareness of SWATCHROOM client list - schedule and team assignment
