2019 | NEW YORK, NY

fun fact| the new year’s eve confetti is launched into times square each year off of this building

We curated a compelling narrative to communicate the building’s location history and environmental greening initiatives with two large scale art commissions.  This iconic building is where the New Year’s Eve confetti is launched into Times Square each year.

We worked with Baltimore artist Karen Lemmert to present an oversized confetti reference with a 25’x 20’ wall-mounted sculpture by made out of dichroic acrylic panels; the sculpture “Freefall” was designed to evoke a sense of unplanned movement while also speaking to the geometry in the building facade.

To tie in the greening initiatives, we commissioned Zimbabwean artist Moffat Takadiwa who sources post-consumer goods from his local beach and weaves hundred of bottle caps, computer keys, soap pump strays into a dimensional wall sculpture.
